River Heritage Celebration

Celebrate Petaluma’s history on the river with Friends and fun, family activities, an old fashioned barn dance and dinner at Steamer Landing Park.

Saturday, October 26th

David Yearsley River Heritage Center

6 Copeland Street, Petaluma

Barn Dance & Storytelling – 5pm – 9pm – Come and enjoy traditional storytelling around the fire followed by dinner and dancing at an old fashioned barn dance. Caller Kelsey Anne Hartman will direct the do-si-dos for young and old alike to take a spin around the barn.

Tickets include dinner and a drink, storytelling & dancing. Kids 12 and under are FREE!

Tule Weaving – 10am – 2pm – The whole family can join in this hands-on with native ecologist Edward Willie. Using local tule reeds, adults can learn heritage skills with basket-making while youth will love to build tule boats. Willie has 40 years’ experience teaching herbalism, permaculture, and ancient skills to people of all ages.
